About us

Mill Road Social Enterprises was established in 1981 as a community-based non-profit developmental centre and had a goal of serving 10-12 adults with diverse abilities through a bakery and a woodworking program.

Today, we have 5 instructors and a number of support staff and participants involved in our daily programs.

Historical Information

In 1992, we purchased an old refurbished CNR storage building from the local Kinsmen organization.

In 2009, with funding from Service Canada, we ran a research project to identify potential new business areas for the organization. Following that research, Mill Road Social Enterprises opened a used clothing store and started a village market during the summer months.
